StoryWalk - 2018
Daily starting Thursday, February 1st through Wednesday, February 14th
On the trail behind Lakeway City Hall
Parking available at Lakeway Activity Center parking lot - lower level, 105 Cross Creek
Take a walk! Read a book! Children can enjoy a Valentine's Day story while taking a short stroll around the trail behind Lakeway City Hall. Pages of a popular children's book, Love Is You & Me will be posted along the walkway so that young readers can experience the importance of reading, spending time with friends and connecting with nature in a fun way. Bestselling author and artist, Monica Sheehan, has created a sweet valentine book that features a dog and his dear friend, a gray mouse, who share a hug, a marshmallow roast and a ride in a convertible. It reminds us that love . . .whether between a parent and a child, best friends, or even a dog and a mouse. . .is the greatest gift of all.
Visitors are encouraged to share the joy of reading with a friend and to record their responses at the end of the route. The StoryWalk Project was created in 2007 by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library. This experience is free!
Parking is available at the Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek. The trail may be accessed by the stairway at the bottom of the parking lot. For those with strollers, parking is available at Lakeway City Hall, 1102 Lohmans Crossing, near the back of the building. Access the trail by following the sidewalk around the building to the right.
