    Learn about Lakeway Wildlife in this interactive Open House. This is one of two open houses scheduled - one in the evening and one in the morning. Both open house events will have the same presentations and information. If you can't attend this session, the other is scheduled for the day before - Thursday, November 14 from 6:30pm to 8pm.

  1. City offices closed for Thanksgiving Holiday

    November 28, 2019 - November 29, 2019

    City of Lakeway offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, to observe Thanksgiving. They will reopen for business at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2. Lakeway Police Department’s lobby will remain open throughout the holiday. Residential trash pick-up will slide to one day later.

  1. Lakeway Community Blood Drive

    November 16, 2019, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Activity Center

    To schedule an appointment, visit WeAreBlood.org and use the Group Code A197 or contact the drive coordinators at LakewayCommunityBloodDrive@gmail.com. Walk-ins are welcomed, but donors with appointments are given priority. Some health conditions, medications and travel locations may temporarily or permanently prevent people from donating blood. Eligible donors are in good health, at least 17 years old and weigh at least 115 lbs. for whole blood donations or 110 pounds for platelet donations. If you have questions about eligibility call 512-206-1108. All other questions may be directed to the email address above or contact LHill@WeAreBlood.org.

    Come enjoy a non-competitive, untimed walk at your own pace. Several courses to choose from: 3 miles in Canyonlands - allow minimum 1 hour - moderately difficult. 6 miles round-trip to top of Mt. Lakeway - allow minimum 3 hours. - moderately difficult with an uphill clime for the last 3/4 mile. Escorted walks to Mt. Lakeway at 12:30PM and 1:00PM. - moderately difficult. Dogs are welcome. Bring water. No stroller access. Not recommended for children younger than six. Live music from The Just For Fun Bunch starts at 2:30PM. Free snack offered at the end. FatBelly Pretzels, Spindrift Sparkling Water and Infamous Brewing Co. beer available for 21 and older. Bring an ID. Not an official American Volksport Assn. (AVA) event.

  3. Special Concert - 'A Night With the Austin Symphony Orchestra' in collaboration with the LTHS Band & Orchestra

    November 16, 2019, 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM @ Lake Travis High School Performing Arts Center

    This magical night begins with a performance by members of the Austin Symphony Orchestra, directed by Peter Bay. Musical selections will include 'St. Paul's Suite, Op. 29' by Gustav Holst and 'Symphony No. 28 in A Minor' by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Then the night will reach a crescendo in a collaborative performance with the Austin Symphony Orchestra and more than two dozen LTHS musicians, leading off with selections from 'Pictures at an Exhibition' by Modest Mussorgsky and closing with selections from the Gustav Holst suite, 'The Planets'.

  4. Lights On! A Holiday Celebration

    Happy Holidays from the City of Lakeway! Lights On! marks the beginning of the holiday season in Lakeway with the first lighting of the Trail of Lights behind City Hall. Join us for fun in the parking lot at City Hall (at the corner of Sailmaster and Lohmans). Enjoy some hot chocolate from the IceCream2U truck for purchase. Have fun decorating cookies, compliments of HEB, and roast a marshmallow at the fire pit! We will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items to benefit local charities. Santa, Mrs. Claus and Rudolph will be nearby the Trail of Lights display to speak to all of the good little boys and girls of Lakeway. Music by KR Wood & Friends - http://krwoodproductions.com/ . No dogs, please. No bicycles, scooters, skateboards or motorized vehicles on the trail, please. Parking is available at the Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek. The Trail of Lights may be accessed by the stairway at the bottom of the parking lot. Not for publication.

  5. Trail of Lights

    November 23, 2019, 6:00 PM - January 1, 2020, 12:00 PM @ City Hall Trail - located behind Lakeway City Hall and adjacent to the Lakeway Activity Center parking lot.

    The Trail of Lights display is located just behind Lakeway City Hall and may be accessed by parking either at City Hall, 1102 Lohmans Crossing Road, or at the Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek Road. Come see thousands of twinkling lights! See amusing tableaus, all accompanied by delightful seasonal music! For those attending who may be in wheelchairs or for those with baby carriages, please park at City Hall near the dumpster cage and access the Trail by walking down the front sidewalk to the right and around the building. Skateboards, scooters, bicycles and motorized vehicles such as Lil' Rascals and golf carts are not permitted. The Trail of Lights will continue nightly from 6:00 PM until midnight through the end of December. No dogs, please.
