City of Lakeway offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 2nd, to observe the Labor Day holiday. They will reopen for business at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3rd. Lakeway Police Department’s lobby will remain open throughout the holiday. Residential trash pick-up will follow the normal schedule.

The Lake Travis Regional Re-Use & Recycling Center will be open for Lakeway residents to drop off hazardous household waste on Wednesday, September 4 from 9 a.m. to noon. This drop off event will be free to area residents.
Some acceptable items include: household rechargeable batteries; cleaning products; degreasers; gas grill propane tanks; mercury thermometers; oven cleaning solvents; polishers; and pool chemicals.
Some items the center will not accept include: light bulbs; medical waste; explosive materials; smoke detectors; tires; computers; printers; televisions; and other electronic equipment.
All items must have a label affixed. Unlabeled items will not be accepted.

Reserve your seat on the next Heritage Trail Tour on Sept. 20, 2019.
The free bus tours are scheduled to leave at 9:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. from the Liebelt Cabin (pictured) located next to Lakeway City Hall, 1102 Lohmans Crossing. Lakeway Heritage Committee members and volunteers will guide each tour that lasts about one hour and 15 minutes. This tour will include 17 stops. Buses will have restrooms on board as well. A full map and description of historical sites that could be included in the tour can be found at Lakeway City Hall.
The first Heritage Trail Tour celebrated Lakeway’s Golden Anniversary in 2013, and since then docents have informed and entertained more than 800 participants with facts and humorous anecdotes from the history of Lakeway and Lake Travis area.
Admission is free for the Heritage Trail Tour, but bus seating is limited and reservations are required.

Walk-ins are welcomed, but donors with appointments are given priority. Some health conditions, medications and travel locations may temporarily or permanently prevent people from donating blood. Eligible donors are in good health, at least 17 years old and weigh at least 115 lbs. for whole blood donations or 110 pounds for platelet donations. The Balcones Community Orchestra is a symphony of 36 musicians, directed by Dr. Robert Radmer. Dr Radmer has served on the music faculties of Texas State University and the College of Saint Scholastica, Eastern New Mexico University. He is also the Orchestra Director at St. Edwards University.
