  1. Concert - Sergey Vashchenko, Russian Balalaika

    March 26, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Activity Center

    Sergey Vashchenko, Balalaika virtuoso from the Ukraine, will perform a program of Russian folk songs and popular music. He will be accompanied by bayanist (accordion) Zhenya Kolykahanov. This event has an educational aspect as comments will be made about the music and the instruments. Sergey has a Master's Degree in Music from the Ural Conservatory and served as an instructor at the Perm Cultural Institute for Arts in Russia. He now resides in Austin where he performs with the Flying Balalaika Brothers. Presented by the Lakeway Arts Committee. For more information about this event, please call 512-261-1010.
