1. Are storage PODS allowed?

Portable home storage units are allowed in all residential districts for up to (14) days per calendar year. One additional fourteen (14) day extension to the initial term may be approved by the Code Official or authorized designee. Notification must be made to Code Compliance prior to placement. Portable home storage units must be placed wholly within the property lines of the lot being serviced and may not be placed on any public street or right of way.

3. Who do I contact to discuss a community concern ?

You may come into the BDS Department offices at Lakeway City Hall, 1102 Lohmans Crossing, and speak to either to a code compliance officer or any member of the staff.

4. Are garage sales allowed in Lakeway?

Yes, garage sales are allowed in Lakeway. However, directional signs or advertising signs are not permitted anywhere and all merchandise must be inside the garage or the home. 

5. What are the permitted hours for construction activity?

Construction operations, including the delivery of materials and equipment, which produce noise disturbances, are only permitted between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

6. I received a Notice of Violation in the mail. What is the fine and how can I pay it?

The fines are set by the Municipal Court Judge, therefore you must contact the Municipal court at 512-314-7560 for information about the fine amount and making a payment. 

7. I will be conducting an open house. Can I have directional signs?

Open house directional signs may only be displayed on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Signs shall be located no closer than 10 feet from the hard surface of the street and shall not be located in Medians. Signs may only be located at the street intersection of a directional change along the route to the open house. Intermediate signs are not permitted. Signs are never permitted at any point along RR 620 or SH 71. Please attach business card information to each sign and no balloons, banners, streamers, etc. --Sec. 26.04.002

8. When am I allowed to put my trash bins out by the street for collection?

Place receptacles, recycling containers and bundles at the edge of such premises adjacent to the street by 8:00 a.m. on the days assigned for pick-up and removal of such residential refuse, and return same to their respective screened locations after pick-up on the same day. Items too large to fit in receptacles, such as appliances, furniture and mattresses, shall be stored securely in a screened area of the premises, and placed at curbside only on the day scheduled for such removal. --Sec. 20.02.006

9. Can I store my boat or trailer in my driveway?

Sec. 30.04.001 prohibits the parking of  boats/trailers on any public right-of-way or lot (outside of a building). However, one boat with trailer or one utility-type trailer or per lot in district R-6 is allowed.
