Election Day Information

Early Voting continues through this evening at 7 p.m. The two closest Early Voting locations for Lakeway residents is the Lakeway Activity Center (105 Cross Creek) and LTISD Educational Development Center (607 RR 620 N). Election Day is coming up this Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m. The Lakeway Activity Center and LTISD Educational Development Center are also Election Day Vote Centers. For Lakeway residents, a local transportation bond election is on the ballot totaling $17.5 million for 11 expected projects. Veterans Day Ceremony

The annual City of Lakeway Veterans Day Ceremony will take place next Friday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Lakeway Activity Center located at 105 Cross Creek. This is a FREE event for our residents as we honor our military veterans. There will be live patriotic music by the Lake Travis High School Band & Choir, a special tribute to Lakeway veterans who served our nation, along with special guest speaker Texas Deputy Attorney General Aaron Reitz, who is also a Major with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Golf Cart Use Changes

Last month, Lakeway City Council approved (6-1) an update to the Code of Ordinances pertaining to the Operation of Golf Carts on and around public streets. The updated ordinance includes a variety of changes that will allow those with golf carts to be able to drive on certain public streets. However, there are several guidelines that must be followed, including only operating on certain local streets with posted speed limits at or below 35 mph, having liability insurance on hand, displaying a proper Texas DMV-obtained license plate, operating only during daytime hours, and operations by a licensed driver, among other guidelines. Lakeway Sing Along Christmas Show

Lakeway Sing Along brings back their annual Christmas Show on Sunday, Dec. 4 at the Lakeway Activity Center (105 Cross Creek) with two special performance at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. This year's performance called "Once Upon A December," focuses on kid-friendly popular songs from animated movies. Reservations are not required for these performance. Both performances are also FREE with the donation of an unwrapped gift (especially sports equipment and dolls) for a child up to the age of 17. Prescription Drug Take-Back Results

Several area residents came out to drop of unused or unwanted prescription medication at the Lakeway Police Department's Drug Take-Back Day this past weekend. Officers collected 15 boxes of prescription medications, cough syrup and pet medications with a combined weight of about 320 pounds. The Lakeway Police Department hosts the event each year at the police department parking lot located at 1941 Lohmans Crossing Road. Stay tuned for the next event announcement in 2023!
