Lakeway Police Department is urging residents to make sure to secure their vehicles properly at their residence, including removing valuables or keeping them hidden from potential thieves. There were several reports this week in particular of vehicles stolen. These particular criminal incidents are crimes of opportunity, meaning few of the vehicles in the reported cases involved forcible entry. Most of the burglaries or stolen cars were the result of unlocked doors. In some cases, the keys to the vehicles were also left inside.

Investigators with the Lakeway Police Department are urging residents in the neighborhoods listed below to reach out if they noticed any suspicious activity, or anything suspicious on a home security camera between the hours of 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2020. They may contact Sgt. Jason Brown at jasonbrown@lakeway-tx.gov or (512) 261-2881. The areas affected include the following locations:

  • Idle Hour Cove
  • Lakeway Boulevard (1500 to 1700 block)
  • North Lakeway Subdivision
