[ARCHIVED] City monitors flood conditions

Lake Travis levels - contour map

Lakeway Police Department and the City of Lakeway are monitoring Lake Travis levels and all low-water crossings and roadways in the city as flooding occurs in the region.
The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) closed Lake Travis, opened three floodgates at Mansfield Dam today, and expected to open a fourth floodgate at 6 p.m.
The lake level is expected to rise to 690-695 feet msl, which prompted the city to close Lakeway City Park. Travis County and Lakeway police are assisting Graveyard Point residents with evacuation procedures.
See the attached map for contour lines and lake levels at the 690-foot level (blue line) and 714-foot level (green line). The elevation of the Mansfield Dam spillway is 714 feet.
When flash flooding occurs, avoid unnecessary travel. If you must travel, don’t drive into flooded roadways. Remember “Turn around, don’t drown.”
