Get your kicks with summer flicks at Lakeway movie series

The Lakeway Movies in the Park and Dive-In Movies at the pool series are back in action for the summer.
Lakeway Parks and Recreation Department alternates these summer movies series from dusk to 8:45 p.m. Fridays that feature popular animated and family movies.
“Catch up on the fun family films that you missed or want to see again at Lakeway’s summer movies series in the great outdoors,” Lakeway Parks and Recreation Director Andra Bennett said. “We show all our movies in the evening and the Dive-In movie series at the pool to beat the heat.”
The Dive-In Movies series opens with “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” on June 8, followed by “The Lego Ninjago Movie” on June 22, “Coco” on July 20, and “Sherlock Gnomes” on Aug. 3 at Lakeway Swim Center, 3103 Lakeway Blvd.
Admission is $3 per person.
The pool area will be cleared at 8 p.m., and anyone wishing to see the movie will be charged $3 to be let back into the pool area at 8:30 p.m. to enjoy the film. Swimming is allowed while the movie is being shown.

The Movies in the Park series kicks off with “Paddington 2” on June 15 and continues with “The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature” on July 13, “Despicable Me 3” on July 27, and “Peter Rabbit” on Aug. 10 at Lakeway City Park, 502 Hurst Creek Road.
Free popcorn and other treats will be available for purchase.
Guests may bring blankets or lawn chairs. So that everyone may see the screen, city staff requests the public to place blankets in the middle and lawn chairs on the outside. Also, please put any smartphones or blinking or glowing items under blankets or in bags while the film is being shown.
Please do not bring dogs to this event.
