Civic Corporation candidate forum video now available

The City of Lakeway will livestream the Lakeway Civic Corporation Meet the Candidate Forum at 7 p.m. April 12 that will feature Lakeway mayoral and City Council candidates.
LCC will host the forum at Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek. It is free and open to the public.

Three candidates are competing for the mayor’s seat on Lakeway City Council and six candidates are vying for two City Council seats in a general election May 5. The candidate who earns the most votes in the mayor’s race will be elected to office for a three-year term. The top two council candidates will be elected to office for a three-year term. Early voting is April 23-May 1.
The city also will conduct a special election May 5 to put seven charter amendments propositions before voters.
LCC board president Dave Benson will moderate the event that will introduce the candidates before they participate in question-and-answer sessions that include time for opening and closing statements.
The questions will come only from the LCC board. No audience questions will be taken, but candidates will have the opportunity to visit one-on-one with audience members after the forum ends.
The evening will conclude with closing statements from the candidates.
Lakeway Civic Corporation is a nonprofit organization that is unaffiliated with the City of Lakeway.
