Lakeway City Park provides 64 acres of well-maintained parkland for the residents of Lakeway and their guests. The park is located at 502 Hurst Creek Road and can be reached by water from Hurst Creek Cove on Lake Travis.
Hours
City Park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. during Daylight Saving Time and 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. during standard time. Please call Lakeway Police Department at 512-261-2800 if the park is not opened during these posted times.
Amenities
There are many things to do at City Park. With nearly two miles of trails, there is plenty of room for everyone from leisurely walkers to vigorous joggers and kids on bicycles or roller blades.
For those who want to enjoy the park at a slower pace, the Butterfly Garden is a perfect place to spend the afternoon. Visit the Bark Park with your dog and make new friends. During the warmer months, when the lake level is up, City Park is a great place for several different water activities.
For the younger set, City Park offers two different play areas. The playscape by the main entrance is designed for toddlers. There is a play area down by the lake for school-aged children. Picnics are always fun in the park for both large and small groups.
For the sports enthusiast, City Park offers a variety of activities: shuffleboard, washers, horseshoes, basketball, volleyball, and Ranger Field for baseball.
City Park is also a wonderful place to relax. Sit on the beach and people watch. Stroll in the wildflower meadow. Identify the different species of trees and other native plant life. City Park offers a covered pavilion and lower area picnic tables for rent.

Waterfront
City Park is a waterfront tract — at least when the lake is at normal level — and swimming in Lake Travis is quite refreshing during the summer months.
Please remember to swim only in the designated swim area. Also, swimming is at your own risk — there are no lifeguards on duty. Children should wear life vests due to the uneven terrain under the water. Try your luck at fishing. It may be a little slow paced for the younger set, but will be a fun afternoon out for Dad.
Watercraft are not allowed in the designated swimming area and there are no launching facilities at City Park. However, Hurst Creek Cove can be a delightful place to spend a quiet afternoon in your canoe.
