If you are interested in a career in law enforcement, then the Lakeway Police Department could be right for you. LPD is the third-largest police department in Travis County and consists of 35 sworn and 15 civilian positions. We are considered an up-and-coming agency in Central Texas.
The City of Lakeway is located 18 miles west of Austin in the beautiful Texas Hill Country on the shores of Lake Travis. With a current population of approximately 19,000 citizens, the community continues to grow.
We generally accept applications year-round. If you have an interest in becoming a peace officer or a police dispatcher, then we encourage you to begin our application process. When a position becomes available we will contact those qualified persons with applications on file.
The Lakeway Police Department offers competitive salary and benefit packages for peace officer and dispatch candidates. You must hold a current TCOLE certification to qualify for the peace officer positions.
