Treatment For Individual Trees & Entire Neighborhoods

Two treatments for oak wilt have been tested by scientific research and proven effective in most cases when done properly: fungicide injection and trench installation.
- Fungicide injection for individual oaks at imminent risk of infection
- Prevents symptom development, but does not stop the movement of the oak wilt fungus through the roots to nearby oaks
- Oak wilt suppression trenches for entire neighborhoods
- Stop root transmission through large areas but can't save oaks closest to infected oaks
Note: These two methods are often used together.
