Lakeway Parks & Recreation invite you to join us for the

2021 VIRTUAL PIGSKIN  SHOWDOWN

January 18 - 31, 2021

**The contest has been extended through January 31st to give you one more weekend to play!

OBJECTIVE:

To have the highest TOTAL SCORE after giving your best effort in 3 skills

1. Kicking

2. Throwing

3. Punting

Highest TOTAL SCORE in your respective age bracket will win the GRAND PRIZE!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED *

A football

A football kickstand

A measuring tape

Comfortable clothes and regulation shoes

Our MEASURING GUIDE which explains how to calculate your score for each category

A phone, camera, or camcorder to record your participation

Family or friends within your social distancing circle to assist in taking photos/video, marking where your ball lands, and cheering for you

* Lakeway Parks & Recreation is happy to loan you a football, kickstand, and/or measuring tape - stop by Lakeway Activity Center at 105 Cross Creek Road  during business hours to borrow supplies. See RULES regarding footwear and appropriate football size below.

HOW TO PLAY?

Begin along the STARTING LINE

Your goal is to kick, throw, and punt the football as FAR as you can, while also landing the football as CLOSE to the CENTER LINE as possible

Stand or run up to any point along the STARTING LINE to accomplish this goal but DO NOT cross the STARTING LINE

Mark where your football FIRST lands and use our MEASURING GUIDE to calculate your score for each skill

KICK Score + THROW Score + PUNT Score = TOTAL SCORE

Try as many times as you want to reach your best possible score in each skill!

RULES

Lakeway Pigskin Showdown is open to all residents of Lakeway Texas as well as friends and family.

There is no cost or purchase required to participate.

Entries are individual. While you can play as a family please submit each contestant individually.

Football Requirements: Contestants aged 12 and under can use a junior size football for the competition. Contestants age 13 and over should compete with a regulation sized football.

Footwear: Football or soccer cleats are allowed as well as sneakers and tennis shoes. Boots, street shoes, or footwear with an open toe is not permitted.

This challenge is virtual and thus will have no judges present during the competition. We are using the honor system when naming the grand prize winners. Please no cheating. We think you are all winners and we all win by doing our very best!
