Through community efforts, we can maintain a safe and environmentally friendly relationship with our deer as they live in their natural habitat.
In order to keep residents, visitors and our beautiful white-tailed deer safe, the city has passed an ordinance prohibiting their feeding. By following this ordinance, you will help reduce the the potential for negative interactions in residential areas and you will encourage the deer to adhere to their normal diet. Studies have shown that feeding deer can be detrimental to their health.
Ordinance 2005-01-17-1 prohibits the feeding of deer; provides for the deer population control measures; and provides for penalties for intentional disruption of deer control activities.
