Councilmember Ron Massa Biography
Ron was born in Massachusetts, raised in Northern California and through his business career has had the opportunity to live in Seattle, El Paso, Southlake, Nashville, and Mequon, Wisc.
He is now a Texan by choice.
The warm, premier hometown atmosphere and proximity to sons, daughters-in-law and 4 grandchildren brought Ron and his wife, Marlene, to Lakeway in 2009.
Ron served on the Lakeway Zoning and Planning Commission from 2012 to 2015 and was chairman prior to election to the City Council.
He believes in effectively managing the city’s growth to continue to provide the premier hometown feeling that defines Lakeway, while maintaining our conservative financial practices and encouraging selective business growth to add to our tax base and minimize the tax burden of our citizens.

Ron retired as executive vice president for A.O. Smith Corp. after 31 years. During that time he was president of their water products company, automotive products company and also had responsibility for their engineered storage products company (Harvestore) and Fiberglass pipe company both in domestic and international markets.
He was also former chairman of the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association trade group.
He has a bachelor of science degree from San Jose State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Albers School of Business at Seattle University.
Ron and Marlene have been married for 40 years and have three sons and four grandchildren who live in the area. They are members of Emmaus Catholic Parish and are members and past board members of the Lakeway Newcomers Club and its alumni. They also are members of the Lakeway Golf Club and The Hills of Lakeway Golf Club where Ron was past president of the Men’s Golf Association.
