    Lakeway Heritage Commission was formed in 2001 to develop among residents of Lakeway, and its environs, a pride in the heritage, growth, and development of their community, to educate the youth of the community about its historical significance, to promote the community’s historical sites and legends to educate the general public and publicize the community, to establish a Lakeway museum and library to provide historical research facilities for citizens of the community, to collect, preserve, catalog, store and display historical items significant to the history and heritage of the Lakeway community and surrounding area, and to serve as a repository for historical documents related to local area government, civic, and recreational organizations.

  1. City offices closed for Labor Day

    September 5, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

    City of Lakeway offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 5, to observe Labor Day. They will reopen for business at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6. Lakeway Police Department’s lobby will remain open throughout the holiday. Residential trash pick-up will be unaffected.

  2. Lakeway Citywide Indoor Garage Sale

    September 10, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Activity Center

    The Lakeway Activity Center hosts a Citywide Indoor Garage Sale. This unique community event is fun for collectors, families and bargain hunters. You will find everything from children's clothing, furniture and toys; to housewares, collectibles, tools, furniture and much more! There is no admission fee, but the Activity Center gladly accepts donations of non-perishable or canned food items in the lobby which will be donated to local food banks and charities. Sales are on a Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon. Space is limited and Lakeway Activity Center members get to sign up early! The 10' x 10' space fee is $25 for Activity Center members and $35 for non-members (includes 1 conference sized table with 2 chairs).

Enjoy big band music from the 17-piece Republic of Texas Big Band, featuring David Cummings and Lisa Clark on vocals. This event is free and open to all ages. The band accepts donations after the show. Sponsored by the Lakeway Arts Committee.

  5. Lakeway Community Blood Drive

    September 24, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Activity Center

    Lakeway Civic Corporation invites the public to donate at the Lakeway Community Blood Drive. The local agency that supplies all of the blood for the area is The Blood Center of Central Texas. All blood collected stays in the Central Texas service area. In 2015, more than 430 units of blood were collected at the Lakeway drives. To donate, make an appointment online at inyourhands.org and follow the instructions.   6. Concert - The Balcones Community Orchestra

    The Balcones Community Orchestra, a symphony orchestra of 36 musicians, will perform a one-hour concert in Lakeway. Dr. Robert Radmer has served on the music faculties of Texas State University and the College of Saint Scholastica, Eastern New Mexico University. He is Orchestra Director at St. Edward's University.
