Lakeway Heritage Commission was formed in 2001 to develop among residents of Lakeway, and its environs, a pride in the heritage, growth, and development of their community, to educate the youth of the community about its historical significance, to promote the community’s historical sites and legends to educate the general public and publicize the community, to establish a Lakeway museum and library to provide historical research facilities for citizens of the community, to collect, preserve, catalog, store and display historical items significant to the history and heritage of the Lakeway community and surrounding area, and to serve as a repository for historical documents related to local area government, civic, and recreational organizations.

Put on your dancing shoes and bring your own beverages and snacks to the Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek Road. Enjoy big band music from the 17-piece Republic of Texas Big Band, featuring David Cummings and Lisa Clark on vocals. This event is free and open to all ages. The band accepts donations after the show. Sponsored by the Lakeway Arts Committee.

The Lakeway Activity Center hosts a Citywide Indoor Garage Sale. This unique community event is fun for collectors, families and bargain hunters. You will find everything from children's clothing, furniture and toys; to housewares, collectibles, tools, furniture and much more!
There is no admission fee, but the Activity Center gladly accepts donations of non-perishable or canned food items in the lobby which will be donated to local food banks and charities. Sales are on a Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon.
Space is limited and Lakeway Activity Center members get to sign up early! The 10' x 10' space fee is $25 for Activity Center members and $35 for non-members (includes 1 conference sized table with 1 chair).

Lakeway Civic Corporation invites the public to donate at the Lakeway Community Blood Drive. The local agency that supplies all of the blood for the area is The Blood Center of Central Texas. All blood collected stays in the Central Texas service area. In 2015, more than 430 units of blood were collected at the Lakeway drives. Summer is just around the corner!Are you looking for activities and day camps in the Lakeway area?This event will familiarize children and their parents about the classes and camps that are being offered at the Lakeway Activity Center over the summer.A special exhibit from Tiny Tails To You will be set up in the ballroom.Around the perimeter of the room, tables full of instructors will offer hands-on introductions to their classes. Participating exhibitors to be announced.Try them out and take the opportunity to sign up for classes!Also available...a complimentary hot dog lunch in the courtyard and face-painting!Everyone is welcomed. There is no entrance fee for this event so come by for some summer fun!No dogs please.

The Standing Military Committee, members of the Lohmann's Ford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Lakeway Police Department Color Guard, the Lakeway Sing-Along Choir and the Lakeway Heritage Commission will coordinate with Emmaus Catholic Church to present a ceremony remembering the fallen on this day.

City of Lakeway offices will be closed Monday, May 30, to observe Memorial Day. They will reopen for business at 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 31. Lakeway Police Department’s lobby will remain open throughout the holiday. Residential trash pick-up will be unaffected.
