    Lakeway Heritage Commission was formed in 2001 to develop among residents of Lakeway, and its environs, a pride in the heritage, growth, and development of their community, to educate the youth of the community about its historical significance, to promote the community’s historical sites and legends to educate the general public and publicize the community, to establish a Lakeway museum and library to provide historical research facilities for citizens of the community, to collect, preserve, catalog, store and display historical items significant to the history and heritage of the Lakeway community and surrounding area, and to serve as a repository for historical documents related to local area government, civic, and recreational organizations.

  1. Movies in the Park - Tonight's Animated Feature: The BoxTrolls

    July 10, 8:45 PM - 10:30 PM @ City Park

    Movies in the Park is a summertime series presented by the City of Lakeway at Lakeway City Park, 502 Hurst Creek Road. Movies will begin at dusk - 8:45 PM. Free popcorn and other treats will be available for purchase. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair to set up at our 'Theater Under the Stars'. So that everyone can see the screen we request blankets to the middle and lawn chairs to the outside. Also, we request that any blinking/glowing items be put under your blanket while the film is being shown. Please, no dogs at this event. . . . but bring the kids and tell your neighbors!

  2. Big Band Bash

    July 13, 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM @ Activity Center

    Put on your dancing shoes and bring your own beverages and snacks to the Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek Road. Enjoy big band music from the 17-piece Republic of Texas Big Band, featuring David Cummings and Lisa Clark on vocals. This event is free and open to all ages. The band accepts donations after the show. Sponsored by the Lakeway Arts Committee.

  3. Dive-In Movies - Tonight's Animated Feature: Planes: Fire and Rescue

    July 17, 8:30 PM - 10:30 PM @ Swim Center

    Dive-In Movies is presented by the Lakeway Swim Center, 3103 Lakeway Blvd., near the World of Tennis. Fee: $3.00/person. The pool area will be cleared at 8:00 PM and anyone wishing to see the movie will be charged $3 at to be let back into the pool area at 8:30 PM to see it. Swimming is allowed while the movie is being shown. For more information, call 512-261-3000.
